PLC's come in different varieties; older ones were mostly standalone 'brick' modules that may have similar looking expansion modules that lack the control circuitry. It is still possible to buy standalone PLC 'bricks' but many modern ones are rack mounted and have individual modules.

These modules vary from the power supply, the main control or CPU card and multi-functional I/O modules. At Servotech Ltd we repair all of these including the rack.

And of course there is a small problem of programming.

We always encourage clients to make sure that they have a secure copy of all the programs for any PLC in their plant. It is our policy at Servotech Ltd to protect that program if possible but embedded programs are volatile and may be lost in fault finding where a persistent fault requires testing of memory devices and especially in the event of a memory chip failure.

We offer a programming service and would not hesitate to contract specialised engineers to ensure a success story for our clients for those complex installations.
